SportMed FITT-start
With a SportMed FITT start, you will receive an objective representation of your current endurance status, based on the SportMed IANT-stress test and a tailor-made program so you can work your endurance capacity.
The SportMed FITT start includes:
- Pre-intake: you will receive an invitation to register in the SportMed Online app (SPOL) in which you will then provide your background information and formulate your objectives in a way that your SportMed-Coach can prepare for the intake interview;
- Intake interview: a short intake interview with your SportMed-Coach (either a physical meeting with your SportMed-Coach in a SportMed (self-)TestPoint or via a video call) forms the real start of the SportMed FITT start;
- The numbers tell the tale: after the intake, you will continue with a SportMed IANT Stress test (which is prepared by your SportMed-Coach) or a SportMed walking test. This will give the necessary information to get insight into your current physical status (basic endurance). You will take the SportMed IANT test:
- either in a SportMed (Self-)TestPoint
- or at your home (see SportMed@HOME)
- Goals and program: after processing your test results, your SportMed-Coach will put together a personal program for you to achieve (or reformulate) your goals. Heart rate monitoring ensures efficiency and safety and you can start exercising according to the SportMed FITT-Units principle;
- Report: you will then receive a full report (pdf or hardcopy) with your test results and your program (12 weeks);
- Gaining insight/explanation: to round the SportMed FITT Start, your SportMed-Coach will explain everything in detail in a personal conversation (can be done via video call or during a physical explanation session, according to your preference) where long, medium and short term objectives are discussed.

- The start: once everything is clear, you can get started with your training.

What?
A SportMed FITT program is a scientifically substantiated, no-nonsense guidance program with which we help people who want to become and/or stay fit by exercising regularly (*), but also athletes who pursue specific sporting goals, to acquire the right insights to do this in a consistent, responsible and pleasant way, according to the principle:

(*) Exercising for your health
In the FITT for VITALITY program, we consider sports as an artificial way (this is done deliberately at a time planned) to provide the body with physical stimuli according to the F.I.T. principle, with which a shortage of this type of stimuli in daily life can be compensated. In this way, the body is gradually brought to and/or kept at a conditional level so that it is bursting with energy and vitality and the resistance (among other things against illness) is optimized. So we are not talking about the performance-oriented form of sports where it is about 'being the best' but about 'sports' for your health. So you do sports, in addition to the portion of daily physical exercise (walking, housework, working in the garden, ...) because that is essential anyway, a number of (usually three) times a week. Sports do not replace 'normal' daily physical exercise and vice versa! Both forms are necessary within a healthy lifestyle.
You then do sports where, when and how you want.
You can choose from 3 variants for the program that suits you best:
- SportMed for Health (FITT for WALKING) - Take that first important step towards an active(er) lifestyle, literally and figuratively, and experience the health effects of moderately intensive efforts in the form of walking/stepping, under the guidance of your SportMed Cardio trainer.
- SportMed for VITALITY (All-round FITT or FITT for JOGGING) - Health combined with vitality gives your quality of life a boost. With a SportMed for VITALY program, you will feel your body's energy level increase enormously.
- SportMed for SPORTS - Are you already doing well? But your ambition goes further? Do you have specific sporting goals? Do you want to prepare yourself optimally for that? Then choose a SportMed for SPORTS - FITT program.
